The Westmore Wildcats were recently treated to musical performances courtesy of Jackson Middle School’s Wired Up and Jazz Lab ensembles. Wired Up is a specialty group for orchestra students while Jazz Lab is a specialty group of band students. Both groups are comprised of several Wildcat alum.
Wired Up entertained students with popular music pieces. When the orchestra played “Never Gonna Give You Up”, students eagerly smiled and sang along. The Jazz Lab played “Moon River” while soloist Laney Marino sang for the crowd.
The performance gave current and former instrumental music students a glimpse of opportunities that await them in middle school. At the end of the day, many students reported that their favorite part of the school day was the concert, specifically being “Rickrolled” by the middle schoolers.
