Westmore is the Home of the Wildcats. The school serves about 390 students from grades K-5. Westmore Elementary believes in the WE factor – the students, staff, and families work TOGETHER to foster a positive and successful learning experience for ALL students.
In the fall of 2023, students, staff and parents collaboratively created a Westmore School Charter. The Charter states how EVERYONE wants to feel when they are at Westmore. WE agreed that we want to feel PROUD, PREPARED, RESPECTED and SUPPORTED, so we will be a community who C.A.R.E.S. As a school who C.A.R.E.S, we are COOPERATIVE, ASSERTIVE, RESPONSIBLE, EMPATHIC and have SELF-CONTROL. These social emotional skills are taught, modeled, and celebrated and we know that students who develop these skills will be students who make a difference in our community, nation, and world.
Westmore also strives to provide an engaging, innovative, and rigorous academic program. Students will experience Eureka math, and ARC reading and writing units, as well as extensive use of technology through the use of Chromebooks. Each of these experiences will develop our students 21st Century skills of Communication, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Creativity, Flexibility, and Technological Literacy.
Finally, we are absolutely confident that you will find our staff and administration to be supportive and student-centered. We will continue to challenge each child at Westmore to be his/her best self, but will be supportive in this process. If you have any questions about Westmore or any of the information stated above, please do not hesitate to contact us.
