Who’s number one at Westmore? The Wildcats of course! On Wednesday, March 22nd students took part in an elementary version of March Madness to celebrate students practicing school expectations.
In honor of the school’s Back to the Future theme, classes received college acceptance letters from the future courtesy of Principal Scott Dart who posed as Doc Brown. Each classroom prepared for March Madness by dressing in their college or university colors. Then, on the day of the event, they learned more about their school and created “foam” fingers to use while they cheered on their class during friendly grade-level competitions. Students competed in a variety of relay races where there was so much fun to be had that few noticed who crossed the finish line first. The event came to a close with each classroom learning how to play “Whoosha” and hosting their own classroom competition.
The smiles on the faces of students, volunteers, and staff alike conveyed the happiness of the day. At Westmore, we are proud of our Wildcats and what they bring to the court- school each day. They are respectful, responsible, safe, and problem solvers.
