Our safety patrol members help to make sure students are safe when coming and leaving Westmore. They arrive early and stay past dismissal so they can be at their post and keep students safe. Patrols apply to be on patrol at the end of their fourth-grade year. Students that are chosen train with the outgoing fifth graders in May, so they are ready to take over the following year. Mr. Ritt, our safety patrol coordinator, took the patrol members to the Kane County Cougars baseball game this week to celebrate a great year of serving the students at Westmore. Emmett Smitt, a member of the safty patrol said, “I’ve enjoyed meeting new kids and interacting with kids I wouldn’t have if I hadn’t been a patrol.” We are thankful for the service they provide each day!
