Dear District 45 Community,
As you may have heard, at its May 19 meeting, our Board of Education unanimously recommended pursuing a limiting-rate referendum this November. Then, at its June 2 meeting, the Board began discussing possible tax rate options. While the details about the rate have not yet been finalized, this recommendation is an important step towards addressing our current funding gap in a way that would allow District 45 to remain fiscally responsible while restoring essential programs and supports for our students.
In the coming weeks, as more details become available, the district will begin sharing more information about the referendum. The goal is to fully engage the community and help residents stay informed. The most effective path forward requires clear and candid communication and collaboration among all District 45 residents.
I welcome the opportunity to connect with community members, answer questions and listen to feedback. I look forward to working together to ensure all stakeholders have the information they need to make an informed decision.
Sincerely,
Brian Graber, Ed.D.
